Performing Arts Medicine requires more than just
the knowledge of "where it hurts" and anatomy.
Knowledge of the raked stage in opera, of the
motion needed for vibrato, and how a dancers
turns out is critical to understanding how to treat.
I want to see the movement that aggravates your
condition, to see your instrument in action. If
you're a cellist, bring your cello. If your a
conductor, bring you baton. It is the action you
are doing over and over that needs analysed. So
please bring your instrument with you.
On-site care is available at rehearsal halls and performance venues.
On-site care has been done for both Ailey groups, Missouri Rep, Starlight, and Lyric Opera.

For the past 6 years I have had the opportunity to work with
great performing artists and performing arts groups located
in, and traveling through Kansas City. The needs are always
different, while the goals always remain the same, getting
the performer to function at his or her best during
rehearsal and performance.
Stress or pain can reduce the ability of the performer to
concentrate or physically perform his/her role in
performance. If a searing headache is happening during
performance, concentration is lowered and the pleasure
and quality of performing is decreased. Likewise, if a
violinist or dancer has a muscle or joint injury, they simply
may be unable to perform or must modify their performance.
Addressing issues when they begin is the best way for
performers to stay on stage.
